This morning, we got to visit the National Cattlemen's Beef Association or NCBA. We learned how they are structured as an organization, and how they are funded. The NCBA is funded by farmers and ranchers all across America to help better the beef industry. They do policy work to make sure that the American farmer has a voice in legislation. They also do advocacy through the Beef check off. They promote the beef industry through videos and stories of farmers. They also put out beef recipes on YouTube and their website (www.beefboard.org). This organization works with local and state cattlemen's associations to advocate and lobby in individual states. We are so grateful that the NCBA was able to give us a tour of their office and teach us about how they get beef from gate to plate!
